Arizona registration closes 29 days before Election Day, and the state offers nearly a month of in-person early voting. Most Arizonans vote by mail through the Active Early Voting List.

Registration deadline
29 days before Election Day.
Early voting
In-person early voting begins 27 days before Election Day and runs through the Friday before Election Day at county voting locations.
Absentee / mail-in
Request an early ballot at least 11 days before Election Day. Ballots must be received (not just postmarked) by 7:00 PM on Election Day.
ID requirements
Photo ID, or two forms of non-photo ID with name and address. Documentary proof of citizenship is required to register for state and local elections.
Election Day hours
Polls open 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. If you are in line at 7:00 PM, you can vote.

Extra info:

  • Sign up for the Active Early Voting List (AEVL) to receive a ballot in the mail for every election.
  • Mail-in ballots must be RECEIVED by 7:00 PM Election Day — a postmark is not enough.
  • You can drop off a completed mail ballot at any polling location on or before Election Day.
