Voting Guide.

Florida requires registration 29 days before Election Day and a photo + signature ID at the polls. Early voting runs at minimum 8 days and is set by each county supervisor of elections.

Early voting
Mandatory minimum 8 days, ending 3 days before Election Day. Counties may extend up to 15 days starting the 15th day before Election Day.
Absentee / mail-in
Vote-by-mail request must be received by 12 days before Election Day. Ballot must be received by 7:00 PM Election Day (10:00 PM overseas military).
ID requirements
Photo AND signature ID required. If the photo lacks a signature, present a second ID with your signature.
Election Day hours
Polls open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time. If you are in line at 7:00 PM, you can vote.

Extra info:

  • Vote-by-mail requests must be renewed each general election cycle.
  • Florida requires both a photo AND signature on your ID — a passport (no signature) needs a second ID.
  • Provisional ballots are available if you lack ID; sign and provide signature for matching.
