Georgia requires registration 29 days before Election Day and photo ID at the polls. Early voting runs for three weeks before Election Day, with mandatory Saturday voting.

Early voting
Three weeks of early voting starting the 4th Monday before Election Day through the Friday before. At least one Saturday is mandatory.
Absentee / mail-in
Application must be received by 11 days before Election Day. Ballot must be received by 7:00 PM Election Day.
ID requirements
Photo ID required at the polls. Driver's license number or state ID required with absentee application.
Election Day hours
Polls open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time. If you are in line at 7:00 PM, you can vote.

  • Photo ID is required for in-person voting and ID number for absentee ballot applications.
  • Acceptable ID includes Georgia DL/state ID, US passport, government employee/military photo ID, or free Georgia voter ID card.
  • Drop boxes are available inside early voting locations during business hours.
