Early voting
Advance voting periods are set by each county clerk, typically beginning up to 20 days before Election Day. Ends at noon the day before Election Day.
Absentee / mail-in
Application must be received by Tuesday the week before Election Day. Ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 3 days.
ID requirements
Photo ID required at the polls (Kansas DL/ID, US passport, military ID, tribal ID, public assistance ID, etc.).
Election Day hours
Polls open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time (Central or Mountain depending on county). If you are in line at 7:00 PM, you can vote.

Extra info:

  • Photo ID is required to vote in person and copy of ID must accompany mail-in ballots.
  • Kansas no longer requires documentary proof of citizenship to register following federal court rulings.
