Absentee / mail-in
Request by 7 days before Election Day. Ballot must be received by 6:00 PM Election Day.
ID requirements
Photo ID required (Kentucky DL/ID, US passport, military ID, or other government-issued photo ID with name).
Election Day hours
Polls open 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time. If you are in line at 6:00 PM, you can vote.

  • Photo ID is required to vote in person. Without one, sign an affirmation and use a non-photo ID.
  • Vote centers allow you to vote at any location in your county on Election Day.
  • Polls close at 6:00 PM — earlier than most states.
