Oregon was the first state to vote entirely by mail. Every active voter automatically receives a ballot, and registration closes 21 days before Election Day.

Early voting
All elections are conducted by mail. Ballots are mailed to all active voters 14-18 days before Election Day.
Absentee / mail-in
Every active registered voter automatically receives a mail ballot. Ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 7 days.
ID requirements
Generally no ID required (signature verification). Oregon DL number or last 4 of SSN is required when registering.
Election Day hours
Ballots must be in an official drop box by 8:00 PM Election Day or postmarked by Election Day.
